Courtney will explain what Mindfulness is and lead the group in various mindfulness practices derived from the MBSR Program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. The program will consist of experiential and didactic components, as well as optional group discussion/sharing. Courtney will guide attendees in a formal seated meditation, we will practice mindful eating with a snack, and she will offer handouts and resources to support their home practice.
There will be an optional mindful eating practice and if attendees are interested in participating, they should have two of the same snack at hand for the end of the program. It can be two raisins, two pieces of chocolate, apple slices, chips, and so on. Really any snack of choice will do!
