Summary

The COVID-19 crisis has impacted our nation in the greatest manner most lawyers have ever experienced, yet the need for legal services for the poor has been mitigated by eviction and foreclosure moratoriums, generous unemployment programs and a significant influx of CARES Act funding into our legal aid system.? Pro Bono service has also been impacted by social distancing and circumscribed by the toll exacted by the crisis on attorneys.? Summer internships were significantly limited, new associates have had their placements deferred, and many attorneys have found their income significantly reduced.?? Pro Bono in the Age of COVID-19 requires a new approach, and this session will share ideas for fulfilling the aspiration of? Professional Rule of Responsibility 6.1 as we live and work under the virus.
