Congress passed the CARES Act and it was signed into law on March 27, 2020. A portion of the CARES Act was the Paycheck Protection Plan (“PPP”) which was to provide fast and direct economic assistance to small businesses and help preserve jobs through loans to small businesses. A large portion of the PPP loans can be forgiven, however, the forgiveness requirements and rules are complicated and have changed numerous times. This CLE is intended to help law firms seeking forgiveness of their PPP loan as well as provide attorneys some guidance as they assist their clients with forgiveness applications.
